Chef Manager 

Talkington Bates are a bespoke contract caterer who are currently recruiting for a Chef Manager to join the team at our clients in the Basildon, Essex.

You will be working with one of our new contracts managing a team of seven. You will be creating seasonal, nutritious, delicious food and responsible for liaising with our client and training and motivating your team. You and your team will be providing breakfast and lunches for approximately 600 people.

 

As the Chef manager, you will be responsible for food innovation, menu planning and costings with a high standard of hygiene, compliance, food safety.  You will be comfortable whether in a customer facing role with a live theatre station, or cashier working of a till if required in order to provde a seamless customer experience. We will provide chef development and training programmes. The ideal applicant would need to be able to provide our guests a first-class customer experience from the moment that they step into our premises to the moment they vacate.

Hours of work: 7.00am-3.30pm ( some flexibility as required for business needs)

Salary:  £35,360 (£17.00 per hour)

Hours/week: 40

Location: Basildon, Essex

Duties will include producing delicious food, being passionate about great service and managing, training and motivating a team. You would need to have combined office skills to manage the budget, complete weekly reports and manage stock. Being highly organised, you will be liaising with our client and communicate well on all levels to create a fun happy work environment. 

The candidate must:

  • Have excellent knowledge of current food trends and an eye for detail

  • Be innovative and creative with a desire to succeed

  • Must have fine dining experience and excellent culinary skills

  • Be a proven and hands-on Chef Manager

  • Work well under pressure with a calm, mature and professional approach

  • Be IT literate with financial acumen and effective food cost control

  • Possess an organised and structure approach to all aspects of the business

  • Manage site administration and bookwork
