Janice Talkington & Paul Bates took to the trails of Mount Teide in Tenerife last week to train for Springboard’s TREK ’19: Borneo. The hills were long and the winds were strong, but they managed to complete the course over the week.
“It was a fantastic opportunity acclimatises to challenging terrain and weather conditions, while field testing some of our equipment. We have been training hard for this over the past 6 months and look forward to the new challenges Borneo will bring.” – Paul Bates
Janice and Paul Janice and Paul will be part of a group of 40 intrepid explorers from the UK hospitality industry, who will venture to one of the poorest countries in the world to help build a vital school in an isolated village and raise money for some of the most disadvantaged people in the UK.
They’ll climb mountains, canoe ancient rivers and trek through rainforests – testing their mental and physical endurance in order to make a difference to the lives of people in Borneo and back in the UK.
The TREK begins on the 24th March, and runs until the 5th of April. You can sponsor Janice and Paul here: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/paulandjanicecharitytrek.
The TREK is organised by The Springboard Charity, for further information visit their website: https://charity.springboard.uk.net/.
