Field to Fork: Visiting Our Suppliers to Serve You Better

At the heart of what we do as contract caterers is a simple truth: good food starts with great ingredients. That’s why we took time out of the kitchen to pay a visit to one of our long-standing produce partners—Anglia Produce—to see firsthand where our fruit and vegetables come from. We've worked closely with them for over two years now, and while the deliveries arrive like clockwork, we felt it was time to meet the people behind the produce—the unsung heroes who make it all possible.
And wow—what a trip it was.
We started by visiting one of Anglia’s key suppliers, a cornerstone of their network. These guys are real grafters, still rolling up their sleeves with early morning market runs when needed. At a time when so many businesses are stepping away from this hands-on approach, it was inspiring to see a team that still believes in doing things the right way—not the easy way.
We dropped into World Wide, one of the major market suppliers, and were met with open arms and genuine hospitality. Their warehouse? Spotless, meticulously organised, and humming with smart tech. From tracking what’s coming in and out, to planning what needs to go where, it's all precision work. It’s not just produce—they're moving at scale, serving restaurants, schools, pubs, and caterers like us. The care and technology behind the scenes was truly eye-opening.
But what really took our breath away was our next stop: a micro herb farm that looked like something from the future. We're talking hydroponics, climate control, and systems so dialled-in that even our Anglia guys—who live and breathe this industry—were blown away. It wasn’t just impressive, it was inspiring.
This wasn’t just a sightseeing trip. This was about connection. Seeing the hands that plant, pick, pack, and push the produce through the supply chain adds a whole new depth to what we do. Now, when we talk to our clients about what’s on the plate—from a handful of peppery microgreens to the juiciest tomato—we’re speaking from real, lived experience. We’ve been to the farm. We’ve met the growers. We’ve seen the process.
That’s what provenance is all about.
As a company that proudly upholds B Corp values, this visit reaffirmed everything we stand for. Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s baked into our sourcing, our partnerships, and our purpose. Seeing our suppliers go the extra mile to be efficient, reduce waste, and operate responsibly was a real confirmation that we’re all in this together.
Our commitment to being a better business goes beyond the kitchen. It’s in the choices we make, the companies we support, and the way we connect people to their food.
Because when you partner with us, you’re not just getting a meal. You’re getting the story behind it, the care that went into it, and the values that shaped it—from field to fork.
